Quality
3I loved this product for years and I recommended to my friends. However, the last batch I purchased and used was not effective as before. It seems that its quality dropped .
Really happy with this product
5This product was amazing! I may stop getting demi-permanents at the salon and switch to this. I have salt and pepper grey in some parts of my otherwise dark hair. The dark chestnut dye did a great job covering these greys but keeping the hair looking natural. The greys become brown/copper/caramel highlights which looks natural and better than a demi. So far it has lasted very well for 2 washes. The dye doesn't stain the tub and washes off hands really easily. It didn't make a mess during application, and was easy to use with the toothbrush. After the first shower, it doesn't come off on pillowcases or anything (before that, it'll slightly come off but not very much). My fair felt great and healthy afterwards, and it doesn't have a strong smell at all (unlike more permanent dyes). Make sure to use a clarifying shampoo before applying it, and use a shower cap while waiting for the dye to set.
Good choice for a quick change
4This product is great for giving a temporary uplift to your hair. It provides a nice colour and shine that makes your hair look healthy and would be brilliant to help find the right colour for you. Much better colour than others I have tried and little to no transfer. Would totally recommend
Great packaging
5Great packaging, instructions easy to follow. Unfortunatly I couldn't use as had a small reaction after doing a patch test. Such a shame as it looked like it was going to be such a good colour match.

Soft but static!
4First up I will admit I am not a fan of the home dye, the effort and the waiting is too much of a faff for me and while this was much easier to apply that other home dyes I have tried it still needed to stay on a long time for something that isn't going to last. Aside from that, it did the job, covered most of the greys and gave some nice tones. It also left my hair lovely and soft but for some bizarre reason it left my hair crazy static for the first couple of days after application. I couldn't touch it without looking like I'd been in some experiment never mind brush my hair!!! Thankfully that passed after a couple of days and normal hair styling could resume. At this stage I have only washed it once, I feel it lost some of the colour, but not the coverage yet.
An interesting alternative to my usual dye!
4I was kindly sent this to review, along with the brightening shampoo. The shampoo works really well before using the colour gel, as it's really good at clarifying. The gel colour was a bit of a change for me, I usually use permanent dyes. I haven't dyed my hair in ages and I am going steadily more grey, so I was keen to try it. I wasn't convinced there would be enough product (the bottle says two full applications on mid length hair or several top up/targeted applications), but I did indeed use roughly half the bottle on my whole head. Applying to damp hair was a little different for me and I initially thought it was a struggle, but it went on fine, and it's non drip which is excellent! There was some quite heavy staining to my skin which I was worried about but it washed off well. I really liked the scent, not at all like a usual dye, not headache inducing either! I was really scared of the colour of the water when I washed it off, but I needn't have worried! My hair is quite dark but it will obviously lighten up as I wash it. My hair feels soft and glossy and much better than when I use permanent dye. Considering I still haven't had a post-lockdown haircut I think this is a winner! My greys are much more blended in and I think it looks really natural, I don't think anyone will particularly notice that I've dyed my hair which I think is a good thing. I think the only thing that puts me off is the price, at £30 for a bottle. Although, if I was using it just to touch up my greys, that bottle would last a long time! I would definitely consider buying the shampoo again as it was really good at clarifying my hair, but doesn't have sulphates, something I actively avoid!
Great Product - unless you usually dye your hair at home.
3I have tried this product and found it very easy to apply to my hair. The pain was the fact you need to apply in damp hair and then wash out afterwards. It makes everything take so much longer. The shampoo was lovely and I enjoyed the fragrance of both the shampoo and gel dye. However, as a home hair dye user I wouldn't recommend this. It took longer from start to finish then using my usual hair dye and obviously lasted for less time then my hair dye. However, if I was still getting my hair coloured at the salon (pre-COVID) then I think this product would be great for me. I used to wait at least 8 weeks between colours due to the cost but I spent the last week to 10 days doing anything to cover my grey roots - think wearing hats and using a coloured hair spray. This produce would certainly make that last week to 10 days easier for me.
Great coverage
5This product was really easy to use. The instructions are clear to follow and gave great coverage. I like to smell and it didn't dry my hair out as other products can do. I would recommend it to anyone.
Game Changer for me.
5I was very excited to try this product, having all of a sudden been visited by the Grey hair Fairy during lockdown, had numerous visible Grey's which I didn't know what to do with and a total hair dye wouldn't be required. Having not dyed my hair before, I found his super easy to use, came with a little 'toothbrush' for easy and precise application, smells great and has lasted well meaning a top up perhaps once per month will be adequate. I will certainly be using this from now on, even given the price. Awesome product!
